You know how there are all sorts of sites that make a lot of things we do so easy and automated? You’ve got Tinypic or Imageshack for uploading pictures, Rapidshare or Sendspace to store files, and Zamzar for converting those .docx (or other MS Office 2007 file type) to the more-manageable .doc. There are many others, all of them geared toward making netizens’ lives all that much easier. Well, better add Picasion to that list.
Picasion lets you generate animated GIFs online. Yes, now there’s no need to have a copy of ImageReady or some other GIF-creation program just to make those cool “animated” pictures that you can post on your FaceBook or Twitter accounts.
As our title states, using Picasion is pretty easy. You just upload the set of photos you want to piece together into an animated GIF. After uploading, simply click the “Create Animation” button thingy. If you don’t even want to take a few seconds or minutes to upload your pics, then you can just point Picasion to the photos on your Picasa Web or Flickr account. Isn’t that convenient?
Granted, Picasion will not offer you the same level of customization as other programs that are dedicated to or are really good at making GIFs. You’ll have to make do with generic animation speed settings as well as the size of the GIF to be generated.
When you want to spice up your social networking profile, your Forum signature, or your message board avatar, an animated GIF is a quick and painless solution. If you found the process of creating actual GIFs a bit too difficult, then Picasion is here to get your tail out of the proverbial fire. Try it out yourself when you can. Have fun!
